Salam everyone,
I have a question regarding dreams and I need to get this out of my system because it is affecting me at the moment. I have an important exam tomorrow and I'm still not studying!!
This morning I had a bad dream about a violent death of a loved one.I was quite devasted after that despite it being just a dream. I woke up, took wudhu' and prayed two rakaah'. I know dreams are just dreams right?
However, about 8 years ago, I really think my dream of seeing a close friend dying came true. I went to China when I was younger and during my two weeks there, I made friends with a muslim sister and we were close then. Even when I went back home, we emailed/snail mailed each other regularly. Then one particular day, I dreamt of her death and I stopped hearing from her since. I hope it is not true but I'm just afraid that the same would happen as seen in my dream.
So I am just wondering: Is it haram to interprete dreams? I think it is but I've seen a book regarding interpretations of dreams when I was at Islamic bookfairs written by Muslim scholars(?) themselves. I'm wondering if having dreams of deaths is a sign for something but I don't know if it is acceptable to interprete it at all. Can someone enlighten me regarding this? :shymuslima1:
