Dua' for death?

Assalamualaikum.

As miserable as this life gets, can I ask Allah to take my life away, to meet Him?

Is this permissible?

Nopes with the little knowledge I have, it is not permissible in Islam to make a du'a for death.

And Allah knows best.

I don't think your suppose to. Remember Life is something Allah gave to you and you want to reject it.
