well that's exactly what i was trying to say.

In pakistan, the public opinion is neglected in policy making in general (interior, foreign, economic etc). At least on this issue the govt did what the majority of people wanted. very democratic imo although hopefully the current US backed puppet govt in pakistan wont last long.
