Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa'imah??

Assalaamalaikum! I think this site is wonderful and thats why i asked my first question but i got answers referred to a Fatwa but then my brother told me You should take only those fatwas which mention the Quran, the Sunnah, and
statements of our righteous companions and sahabah and that Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa'imah does not seem to be right....so, i'm asking your site itself that what your say about this is....please clarify....

What is not "right" about them?

May Allaah reward there efforts and forgive them for their shortcomings. There are a number of people who claim that there is no ijtihad, that is no striving to arrive at a decision (based upon texts). How then are current affairs and others going to be dealt with? Maa shaa Allaah, Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa'imah is an excellent board. That doesn't mean however that they are safe from mistakes, errors and incorrect rulings. And in some of their fataawaa, there are clear issues of differing (ie, another opinion).
