Assalaamu alaikum, I made a nice thread last night about tawheed and now I can't even find it. Does anyone know where it went? thanks. I hope it wasn't deleted (like many other things I post) I thought this piece I wrote was genuine and really good

wa `Alaykum al-Salam warahmatullâh

Tawhîd is of three categories not four. But the Hâkimiyyah is an important type within Ulôhiyyah.

So maybe because of that it was deleted. But Hâkimiyyah is definitely not a bid`ah.

Assalamu alaykum,

My dear brother, I ask Allah that we please Him, and for our hearts to be united upon Islam, amin.

It seems that the thread was made up of two parts. The first part was accurate. It was an article explaining the well known three categories of Tawheed. Alhamdulillah, it was a good reminder. Unfortunately, there was a copy/paste of some sort of question and answer written by some unknowns, which introduced a fourth part. The question itself contained fabrications and incorrect information. The answer was also incorrect. For this reason it was deleted.

I suggest you find your information from more authentic sources and to associate with people of ahlus sunnah.

I heard that Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Ibraheem said that Shaykh Bin Baz use to teach the knowledge of 'Tawheed al-Haakimiyyah' but the 'Saudi Salafis' rejected it and considered it an innovation, is that true? Are there any books or articles in Arabic or English with regards to this issue? Can you please guide me?

Firstly, Shaykh Muhammad ibn Ibrahim aal Shaykh (rahimahullah), died many years ago in 1968. Shaykh Ibn Baz (rahimahullah) was his student and was to become a leading scholar later. - So, it makes no sense for a deceased Teacher to be talking about his student's teachings. Maybe the questioner meant that Shaykh Muhammad ibn Ibrahim (rahimahullah) used to teach "tawheed al hakimiyyah" and was stopped by the government but this too is not correct and without evidence.

Secondly, having spent time with some of the scholars who were leading students of Shaykh ibn Baz (rahimahullah), I have not heard of this, nor from the students is it known from his contemporaries.

Thirdly, the mind of the questioner is found when he uses the term "Saudi Salafis". This is politicising and causing tafriq. The people of such tafaruq are from ahlul bid'ah. Their agenda is to critisise and find fault with the scholars, with the Muslims and also to promote their anti establishment stance. - We should deal with these matters with clear, logical and knowledge based minds, understanding exactly what our manhaj is, as taught by the Salaf and the leading scholars of our times.

The consensus of the scholars of Ahlus Sunnah is that Tawheed can be classed into three categories. The concept of Hakimiyah is part of Uluhiyah. - The Salaf, and we talking about the great Imams of the past, never left things out! They do not just write a treatise and make categories for people to come along in future and add to it. So Hakimiyyah was known in the past and it was part of Tawheed al-Uluhiyah.

Unfortunately, some ruwaybidah, (the upstarts, no knowledge but pretend to be scholars) make claim for a "Tawheed al-hakimiyah". This is not so much to do with Tawheed, but a vehicle to introduce their own politicised innovations.

These same ruwaybidah make false allegations and claims against the scholars. They say the scholars are forced by the authorities to change their views or to teach 3 categories rather than 4. These are evil accusations, and it contradicts the reality. There were major scholars not only in the Hijaz, but in Shaam, in Sindh and Hindh and so forth. For example, Shaykh Al-Albani (rahimahullah), the late Muhadith Shaykh Badiudeen Shah Sindhi (rahimahullah) and so forth. They all warned against the various groups which emerged and their ignorant snake tongued leaders who call towards fitnah of extremism and rebellion.

The knowledge of Allah being al Haakim, and the obligation of following Allah's commands is under Tawheed Al Uluhiyah. - This is true and we must follow it.

The incorrect callers who seek people to follow their view points, and to ignore the true scholars, often target those who are new to practicing the Deen. So our brothers and sisters should be careful. The enemies of Islam seek to provoke instability and cause division amongst the Muslims. - Here in Jordan, we have small groups of people who built their foundations on such ideas, their teachers opposed the scholars of Islam, even though the scholars are muhaditheen and have spent many years teaching!

So these "ruwaybidah" people try to legitimise their own corrupt methodology by making people believe it is upholding Tawheed. Step by step they create fitnah in Muslim countries and in non-Muslim countries. Many of them make suicide bombing, targetting of police and even civillians halal. - Their snake tongues conjure up pictures of widespread evil and they throw labels of kufr, shirk, tawagheet at other Muslims -- all from their innovation and corruption of the meaning of Hakimiyyah.

This is the reality of the situation, it is the end results of people breaking away from the Ulema', and trying to learn a manhaj which is taught by those who have not the religious standing and authority to be doing so.

And Allah knows best.

I will finish by adding a Question and Answer about al Hakimiyah, with Shaykh Al-Albani (rahimahullah)

Wasalamu Alaykum

Shaykh Al-Albani (rahimahullah) was asked:

"Our Shaikh, may Allaah bless you, the scholars of the Salaf, may Allaah have mercy upon them, mention that Tawheed is of three types: 'ar-Ruboobiyyah', 'al-Uloohiyyah' and 'al-Asmaa was-Sifaat', so is it correct for us to say that there is a fourth Tawheed that is 'Tawheedul-Haakimiyyah' or 'Tawheed of Judgement'?"

Answer:

" 'Al-Haakimiyyah' is a branch of the branches of Tawheedul-Uloohiyyah, and those who focus their attention upon this newly invented saying in the present age use it as a weapon not to teach the Muslims the Tawheed that all of the Prophets and Messengers came with, but rather as a political weapon. So if you wish I will establish for you what I have just said, even though this question has repeatedly been answered by me, many times - or if you wish we will continue upon our topic.
I have said in similar circumstances, as support for what I have just said, that usage of the word 'al-Haakimyyah' is part of the political da'wah that is particular to some of the parties present today; and I will mention here something that occurred between myself and someone who gave the khutbah in one of the mosques of Damascus. So on the day of Jumu'ah he gave a khutbah which was all about judgement being for Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic. But this person made an error with regard to a matter of fiqh. So after he had finished the prayer I went forward to him and gave him 'salaam,' and said to him, 'O my brother, you did so and so, and that is contrary to the Sunnah.' So he said to me, 'I am a Hanafee, and the Hanafee madhhab says what I have done.' So I said, 'Subhaanallaah! You have given khutbah that judgement is just for Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic, but you only use this word to attack those rulers whom you think are Unbelievers because they do not rule according to the Islamic Sharee'ah. But you have forgotten about yourselves - that Allaah's judgement covers every Muslim. So why, when I say to you that the Messenger did so and so, why do you say, 'But my madhhab is such and such.' Then you have contradicted that which you call the people to.'

So if it were not for the fact that they use this saying as a tool for political propaganda of theirs, then we would say, 'This is our merchandise that has been returned to us.' "
