JazakaAllaah khair sisters and brother. just needed duas that is all
sister Suhaana......we have many Muslims here too but not as many as in say the twin cities. And we only have two masaajids may Allaah help us. AlhamduliAllaah those too are blessings. We cannot complain. This is our first trial, we have never done something like this, so inshaAllaah. We hope to excel in it and to please the most high with whatever we do. Its just that we have less than a week and things are not going so well, alhamduliAllaah for everything though. InshaAllaah it'll go as Allaah planned which is going to be the best inshaAllaah. Believe me ukhti....we're UNDERconfident, lol if that is even a word. May Allaah help us and help everyone who is trying to make His word supreme in this dunya.ameen

Update
Assalaamu alaikum dear sisters and respected brothers,
I hope my update reaches you in the best of health/imaan.
Well, my update is not a good news....but alhamdulillah for everything.
We set up our event, the shaikh showed up BUT nobody came to it... all those we invited. We went door to door, but nobody deared to come and see. I guess we're been tested by the most High. "Maybe He wants to see if we're going to give up or not...if we're going to blame Him :astag: and so on" My friend told me...we will not do neither of those. Instead we thank Him for giving us the opportunity and for letting us learn from this experience. Alhamdulillaah!
Ofcourse, my best friend and I were disappointed...we were saddened. But the confort of knowing that "we're rewarded for just trying" makes us feel happy. Alhamdullaah. People just missed on a great opportunity. We've learned from the shaikh, and he was kind enough to give us a very conforting lecture. One of the things he said which I'll never forget is...."our rab is rabul quloob" meaning our Lord is the Lord of the hearts. He will not look at the situation or the apperance....He'll only look at the sencere heart. Alhamdulillaah. Yes...the day might have been bad but what we have gained is something we'll take with us for the rest of our lives. Alhamdulillaah.
I just wanted to update everyone...and to say "jazakaAllaah khair" for all those who prayed for us.

But I have a feeling smething was not right about you guys' flyers? You know sometimes, people just get attracted by them and attend the event mostly because of how the flyers look. I know of many lectures that many haven't attende because the flyers looked somewhat bold.
So Insh'allah, when next time you plan on re-doing the event(I agree with wat the sis^ said, yu'll do this Again because you're strong and you don't let people discourage you), just keep that in mind.
May Allah swt reward you two, and the sheikh, for your great efforts in trying to spread this deen.Aameen.

and Jumma mubarak nooo, nothing to be sad about
everything happened for a good reason. Alhamdulillaah!! I dont think it was about the flyers.....all the flyers had on was the tittle, date, time and "free snacks and drinks served." So, the problem is not the flyer. We went door to door to talk to the people.....all we DID is INVITE them to a community event at the library to learn more about their neighbors. Oh yea.....def we'll do it again, make some changes inshaAllaah ta'ala. The shaikh's tips was to get involved in community events so people see we're just the same but a little different... so alhamdulillaah for everything.ameen to your dua abaayo.....may Allaah reward you for your kindness!
