Asalaamu alaikum -
Sorry if this has already been discussed...
Last night during a fund raiser several brother and I were sitting at a table eating when another brother known by most of us walked by. When we greeted him with the salaam he said we shouldn't do that while eating.
Is there a basis for this? Two of the bothers at our table (there were I think six including myself) are very knowledgeable and they said they never heard this.
Now I have heard something about this once long ago but I can't recall just what.
