O mankind We created you from a single(pair) of male and female'and made you into nations and tribes,that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise each other). Verily the most honored of you in the sight of Allah is(he who is ) the most righteous of you.And Allah has full knowledge and well aquainted (with all things) (49:13 )
O! mankind reverence your Guardian-Lord, who created you from a single person,created, of like nature, his mate,and from them twain scatterd (like seeds) countless men and women..... (4:1)
Except those who join a group between whom and you there is a treaty(of peace) and those who approach you with heatrts restraining them from fighting you or fighting their own people. If Allah had pleased He could have given them power over you and they would have fought you: therefore if they withdraw from you and fight you not and instead send you (guarantes of peace), then Allah hath opened no way for you (to war against them)(4:90)
Truly, if the Hypocrites and those in whose heart is a disease, and those who stir up sedition in the city, desist not we shall certainly stir thee up against them; then will they not be able to stay in it as thy neighbours for any length of time. (33:60 )
But if the enemy incline towards peace, do thou also incline toward peace, and trust in Allah; for He is the one that heareth and knoweth (all things )

From the above Quranic verses one can see the acceptance of diversity among people and also the need to maintain peace to atmost posssiblity. The Quran is the word of the Creator of everything and not only that of muslims..
To thee We sent the scripture in truth, confirming the scripture that came before it and guarding it in safety; so judge between them by what Allah hath revealed, and follow not their vain desires, diverging from the tuth that hath come to thee. To each among you have We prescribed a law and an open way. If Allah had so willed, He would have made you a single people, (but His plan is ) to test you in what He hath given you; so strive as in a race in all virtues. the goal of you allis to Allah. It is He that will show you the truth of the matters in which you dispute.(5:48)
