I'm Arlen, from Australia.
I'm interested in languages, programming, but first and foremost, religion. I was brought up in a Christian family but it kinda dropped off in the end. I became interested in Eastern religions/philosophies (Buddhism, Zen, Taoism, Chinese universalism, etc.) a little while ago, while I was still atheist, and later when I regained theist beliefs, looked back into Christianity and so forth. Recently I came across the Bahá'í Faith. I thought it was good, but for some reason it never really felt right with me.
Now, I am here. I'm reading the Qur'an (a member of this very site took the time to mail it to me! Many thanks to you, sister!), as well as reading widely in general. I can see, hear and read everywhere what the (Western) media has done to its portrayal of Islam here. I'm building my knowledge of Islam, and feel great that I have an opportunity to do so.
