"Shaker Aamer is a British resident with a British wife and children who has been imprisoned without trial by the US in Bagram Airforce Base and Guantanamo Bay for over ten years. The Foreign Secretary and the Foreign Office must undertake urgent new initiatives to achieve the immediate transfer of Shaker Aamer to the UK from continuing indefinite detention in Guantanamo Bay."

JazaakAllahu khayraa for posting this here. I can't believe it, people are now petitioning of a man who is not only innocent in our eyes but has also been clear of all charges by his captors 6 years ago.

May Allah guide these people, and if guidance is not written for them, may Allah break the backbone of these oppressors.

It's the first time I'm reading about a petition where the guy is already "Clear of all charges" by those imprisoning him.

So many of our brothers in Gitmo are cleared for release, I don't understand why they're still there. Brother Shaker apparently is very vocal about the injustices in Gitmo. He speaks out whenever he gets the chance to and he has led numerous hunger strikes. They're scared of what he has to say when he gets out, because he has a lot to say about that hell hole.

Sounds like Tariq Mehanna. I just found about this brother only recently on multaqa. I thought his picture in that post is so full of innocence.
