there are 3 types of shirk , they are:
(1) Ash-Shirk-al-Akbar, i.e. major shirk
(2) Ash-Shirk-al-Asghar,i.e.minor shirk
(3)Ash-Shirk-al-Khafi, i.e.inconspicious shirk...

to explain in detail:
Major Shirk : it takes one from Islam and has 4 types:
1- The polytheism in invocation i.e. involving supplications to other than Allah.
2- The polytheism in intentions i.e. purpose and intentions not for the sake of
Allah but directed towards other deities.
3- The polytheism in obedience i.e. rendering obedience to any authority against the Order of Allah.
4. The potytheism in love i.e showing love to others which is due to Allah Alone.
Minor Shirk: it doesnt take one away from Islam. it is Ar-Riya, that means the acts of worship done to gain praise or fame rather than to please Allah.
Shirk Khafi- The inconspicuous polytheism implies being dissatisfied with the conditions ordained by Allah.
