I hav had a wierd day i hav been a little more into Islam starting yesterday i was trying to stop anasheed and music completely. I had trouble because everytime i heard a music that i knew(regardless if i didnt want to hear it), it stayed in my head for awhile and i would get a headache because i was tryin to keep it out. I then came bac home from work and started listening quran, and sheikhs, and also news. I liked to watch anime but i hav limited it to only the 1s that are not supernatural usually sports but im pushin to stop completely. But at the end of the day i went in the bathroom to take a shower(i dont remember if i tawathed or not) but when i was taking the shower i closed my eyes for about ten maybe 15 seconds but all of a sudden i had music stuck in ma head and then i felt as if somethin was holdin me not physically though but i opened my eyes and stumbled bac a lil bit i wanted to say the muawthat but i knew that i couldnt say Allaahs name in the bathroom so i got out of the shower and left as soon as possible. I wasnt in shock or that scared but more confused.

Questions:
1. What do i do in the bathroom if that happens to me and i cant say Allaahs name so i cant do any mauwthat.
2. i had a second question but i kinda answered it myself.
3. But does anybody hav any suggestions on a way to help stop or any duas that will help me from keepin music in ma head.

Assalaamu alaikum,

I know what you're saying about songs stuck in your head...it happens alot to me :shymuslima1: but I found it helpful to listen to the recitation of the Qur'an constantly. If you have ipod, mp3 player, or even your phone.. download Qur'an there it'll help a GREAT deal! mashaAllaah, alhamdulillah.
It's helpful to read the dua before you enter the bathroom....then you will not have difficulties....if you forget, just whisper 'authobiallaah' in your head! thats better than saying nothing at least, ya know what I mean.

Thats all I have, I hope it helps,

barakallahu feek, may Allaah help you in this situation, ameen

Try to make a habit out of saying the dhikr "Ao'otho billah minal khobthi wal khabae'eth"..as you're entering the bathroom with your *left* foot..this should protect you from anything that is in the bathroom bi ithni Allah..

As for the music..you're actually thinking of it too much..to the point where you're making yourself too vulnerable..to yourself..just think *I am done with music*..and then if you're exposed to it due to uncontrollable means (i.e. riding an elevator..being in a store..etc.)..simply ignore it..if you find yourself listening instead of just *hearing*..then just remind yourself that you cannot do that anymore and move on to something else to distract you...if you find yourself humming to yourself or thinking of a song..just stop yourself..and move on..because this is all so new to you..you will feel frustrated a bit as it will happen a lot..and sobhanallah..you will find that you'll think of songs that you didn't even care about before..and that's all part of Shaitan's trickery and battles against you..your weapon to win..is to *stop* thinking of the song/music..and this is all just part of your "rehabilitation" process..literally think of it as a withdrawal-syndrome of sorts akhi..

I do recommend that you do 2 things though if you can do them they will help you *a lot* Inshallah..

1. if you have an mp3 player...fill it to the maximum with your favorite suras..and audio lectures by your favorite shaikh(s)..and have that mp3 player handy at all times with the headphones..so you'd turn it on and listen to its contents any time you need to do that..

2. keep an Islamic book or two in your car trunk or in the glove-compartment..and whenever you feel you need "positive distraction"..run to the car..grab a book..and read through it..if you can keep a small Qura'an in the car (minding the etiquette to doing so of course!) in addition to the books..that would be better

Don't worry however..Inshallah the longer and stronger you remain in your self-challenge..the less you'll face issues with the music deal..until you reach a point where you automatically tune your mind to react to the situations that involve music in the means necessary..just remain patient akhi..and make a dua'a out of *your heart* for Allah to help you..so you can increase your sincerity baraka Allaho feek

It happens brother. When u l;eave something , to which you were addicted so strongly, it feels in the beginning that you are sometimes doing it but actually you are not doing it

dont worry, stay on your acts strongly. you will be all fine.
