My deepest desire is to pray regularly, but irregularity in prayers and the bad formation of habits has made Salah seem like a burden :)astag:) than a blessing and guidance

Lets be Practical and Realistic. For someone who has not been regular in prayers he/she cannot become practicising overnight. I believe in the notion of step by step but I have no clue how to approach this scenario.

My request to my brothers and sisters on the step I can take to make Salah part of my daily life, to maintain it and what should I do for all the salah that I have missed for the past 6 years :(

Jazakallah

Assalaam walaikum,

A knowledgeable brother told me of a man that missed 17 years of salah. He made it up.

First think of how much more time we have when we make salat.
Second do not punish yourself. You are now at a point where you have awareness..go with that. You have knowledge that you need prayer.
Just do it. Just do it.Do not think but do it.

Simple things: have a place that you dedicate to prayer. Make it. Think about what you are in need of in your life and find the sura that most addresses that need. Keep it simple.

There are tons of threads on TTI on prayer. Read them. Read the hadeeths on prayer. Focus on why we pray. Understand the motions we use for prayer. If you are going to do something than do it with love.

We will make dua for you.

Islam is a way of life
Keep in mind that even though you have missed Salah for 6 years, you're not the only one. This is more common than people think. But its not something a person wants to admit since they are obviously ashamed.

As Aapa said: Just do it.

Tell yourself "I will make the next salah" and do it. Your next Salah may be the last you make in this life. No one but Allah swt knows.

I used to never make Fajr. (Astaghfirallah) And I would get discouraged and be like "I'll never be able to commit to doing fajr" But then one night I decided: I WILL MAKE FAJR TOMORROW. And then the next night, I said, I WILL MAKE FAJR TOMORROW.

And now its a habit.
Alhamdulilah.
Will power and the want to do something will form good habits.
