:salam2:

I found a fatwa by Shaykh 'Ubayd Ibn AbdelAllaah al Jaabiree and it claims to be the refutation of islamqa.com website (that we very often use) and Muhummed Saalih al Munajjid. Some people claim he is a Qutbi.

However, I don't understand arabic, so I don't know what the Shaykh is saying in this video. Please help.

Jazakallahu Khairan for your help.

Wa `alaykum salaam wa rahmatullaah

Bro I would advise you to stay away from the things that some of the people behind this 'da`wah' spread.

I advise you akhee, with the advice of the scholars- the likes of the kibaar al-`Ulemaa like Albaanee, Ibn `Uthaymeen, Saleh al-Fawzaan, Ibn Baaz and other than them... stick to seeking knowledge and make du`aa to Allaah to guide you and all the muslims to the straight path. And I really really ask you to not waste your valuable time with these "salafi" groups and I tell you this from personal experience- it is completely of no benefit.

The straight path is that of following the Qur'aan and Sunnah according to the understanding of the Sahaabah, and the righteous salaf. This was what the Imaams of the 4 madhaahib were upon. We love the Sahaabah and those who follow them in ihsaan and eemaan. Always remember to not stick to what "people" say and stick to the `ulemaa- the likes of Ibn Baaz, Ibn `Uthaymeen etc. and from those who are alive- `Abdul-Rahmaan al-Barraak, `Abdul `Azeez al-Raajihi, `Abdul Muhsin al-`Abbaad, Saleh al-Fawzaan, Saleh al-Luhaydaan, Muhammad Mukhtaar al-Shanqeeti and many more.

Just an example of how these `Ulemaa are busy with knowledge... you have some so called 'salafis' who label sh. Mukhtaar al-Shanqeeti as a Sufi with no basis at all. And all you see the shaykh doing is carrying with his life as he normally does and through this Allaah honours him and may Allaah honour him in this life and in the aakhirah.

How many are the graves that have been illuminated because of the knowledge and the actions of its people? How many are those who took the path of knowledge, and thus through this Allaah honoured them. How many have preceded us in righteousness and knowledge- through which Allaah raised their ranks and expiated their sins. How many are those who were truthful with Allaah in their seeking knowledge and thus Allaah will be truthful with them- and they are the ones who are constantly remembered in the gatherings of the angels and are constantly surrounded by the angels... due to their seeking knowledge.

These are the `Ulemaa akhee and I advise you to stick to them. Whenever you see people say things, always see what the basis of that is (from the Qur'aan & Sunnah). Was it something the salaf did? If they did so, how did they do it? Why did they do it? What were the environmental circumstances for doing certain things that the Salaf did? And see what the `Ulemaa say about that.

As for Shaykh Saalih al-Munajjid- he is a well known scholar amongst the major scholars and they have not said anything about him... so I advise you to stick to the words of the major scholars inshaa'Allaah- namely the Lajnah al-Daa'imah.

Some of these guys spread a lot of fitnah under the title of a noble science: "Jarh wa Ta`deel" and they lack basic understanding of such sciences.

Wassalaamu `alaykum

Assalamu Alaikkum wa rahamatullahi wabarakatuhu,

Jazakallahu khairan for the advice, akhi. It is true one gets confused with all this refutation of Ulema going on. I love all Ulema for the sake of Allah. They are doing a lot for this Ummah. I totally love Shaykh Albaanee, Ibn `Uthaymeen, Saleh al-Fawzaan, Ibn Baaz and I mostly read their fatwas on alifta.org.

Islamqa was more specific, so I used to check that when I don't get what I wanted from alifta.org. So, I was concerned if I was taking knowledge and fatwa from wrong sources. I also love Shaykh 'Ubayd Ibn AbdelAllaah al Jaabiree and Shaykh Rabee Al-Madkhali. The "salafis" that you mention they simply refuted them with something cooked up and I didn't believe them. They follow their desires and refute when someone doesn't agree with them.

"And whoever opposes the Messenger after guidance has become clear to him and follows other than the way of the believers - We will give him what he has taken and drive him into Hell, and evil it is as a destination." [4:115]

Now, how can they refute and curse manhaj of Sahabah ? That is what my concern was. I was expecting what is said in the video to be cooked up. I know 'Ulema have respect for each other and overlook each others mistakes. So I didn't believe when it said Shaykh 'Ubayd Ibn AbdelAllaah al Jaabiree refuted Shaykh Saalih al-Munajjid. I needed clarification because I cannot understand arabic.

Anyway, Jazakallahu khair, brother.

Assalamu Alaikkum wa rahamatullahi wabarakatuhu,

I found the translation,

I believe the allegation in the video are not true simply because it is an accusation and there is no proof presented.

May Allah protect our 'Ulema.
