As Salamu 'Alaykum,
Brothers and Sisters,
I carelessly sliced my hand today while cutting food with a butcher knife (a very large sharp clever).
What I need help on is confirmation or correction on how I did wudu. Salah isn't a problem as I have to sit on a chair because of my spinal injuries. But, I am not sure that I performed wudu correctly.
I cut the palm of my left hand. I put improvised butterfly closures on it and used a pressure bandage with a roller gauze over top. The bandage covers my palm and the back of my hand. When I changed it before getting ready for late evening prayer the wound had stopped bleeding; however, the bandage was red in the three lower layers of roller gauze. It is not bleeding at all now.
I set my intention with Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem.
So, when I did wudu, I ran my right hand under the running water three times, than I dampened my right hand and ran it over my left and between the fingers three times. I than cleaned my mouth and nostrils three times each (first my mouth and then my nostrils. After that I did my face using one hand to do both sides. Then I ran my right arm under the running water three times first the under arm and that the top on the arm counting that as one normal cleaning and repeated the process three times. I dampened my right hand and ran it over my left as I would normally do with the exception of a damp hand instead of running water and a wet hand. (I did not want to get the bandage wet; so I used only a damped hand and ran it over the as if it had water instead of merely damp. I then did my head and ears again only using my right hand for both sides. And finished with my feet using just my right hand to do both feet.
Is this acceptable?
