i was wondering if henna tattoos are allowed in islam. because i know many cultures use henna decorations at time of a wedding. so could someone tell me if henna tattoos are allowed?

My understanding is that this is acceptable, provided that the henna tattoos do not depict anything haraam.

in short they are allowed. go ahead sister!

just keep few points in mind:

1. dont use often as they contain harmful chemicals and take it off before bath or wudu as they are water-proof.

2. its not animate object tattoo and purpose is not to attract opposite gender

the henna that i got is the kind that lasts for 7 to 12 days. it comes the powder and the eucaliptus oil, also the citrus sugar. i reason is because i like to draw and henna looked like a very interesting medium to use and play around with
