How do your neighbors act?

Islam is a way of life
Today I was driving, and had to turn around in this NICE neighborhood, houses which were probably worth $900k or more, since it had lots of private things...a Pool, tennis court and small businesses.

I saw 3 of the houses with Christian Nation flags hanging...It made me wonder, what would they do if a Muslim family moved in and hung a flag with the Shahaddah on it? :SMILY149:

For those of you with non-Muslim neighbors, how do your neighbors act?

My neighbors well.....how do I describe they? I know one word LOUD. Aside from that their pretty cool neighbors. Then again I can't say we have been the best neighbors either.

Well, I'm a big chicken so I'm scared to go outside wearing my scarf (stupid, I know, but its my issue to work through, I almost ripped hair out of my head when I yanked it off.. husband came home). None of my neighbors even talk to each other. I have only talked to the elderly man next door, I had to catch his dog when it got out once and I ask him how he's doing when he's waiting for the senior center bus. He wouldn't have a clue what the scarf is. The mormons across the street wouldn't notice either, probably. As for a flag, I might get some confused looks.

Assalaam walaikum,

I have good neighbors. We share, we swap, and we pitch in. The whole town knows where I live. I have people come to me and ask me to pray for them.

When I wore hijab my neighbors saw me with it and didn't say anything or treat me differently. I doubt they care either way.

I'm not what you believe
:salam2:
the first time my neighbours saw me with hijab, their first question was<don't you feel hot>?it made no difference to me and contin ued my life till today like a normal woman, while those neighbours continue to wacth from the window when we go out and listen what we say...I don't like them, cause they laugh at our backs,so I give them the distances, but I greet them if they greet me:wasalam:

I hate when people ask that! Where I live, the temperature gets to like...30-35 degrees C. And people ask Hijabis..."Aren't you hot?" :angryred:

Assalaam walaikum,

And you respond: I would rather be hot here and now than be hot for eternity.

Assalamu'alaykum

My parents maintain very good relations with the neighbours, (I say Hi too if/when Im around!). They are non-muslim but very easy to talk to.

We exchange gifts around Ramadhaan and 'Eid and they understand a lot about Islaam and muslims Alhamdulillaah.
