Assalamo Alaikum
It is yet another Friday. You go and pray at Masjid. You are praying and people are praying. Sometimes they are different from you or you are different from them. You are back home asking your father about this issue. "Don't question. You pray as your grandfather or grandmother prayed" says your Father. However one in the masjid was your friend, telling you "Bro, Bro. No! Pray this way. This is how the Prophet prayed" You are deep down in the confusion. How long we can stay in this confusion?
Back to Salaah! You fold your hands below the navel. Your friend telling you "Keep it over the chest bro" You take it as between what your family says and friend say. Your mind starts oscillating. How long we can stay in this confusion?
Still in the Salaah! You are finishing the recitation and going to rukoo directly. Your friend going to ruqoo doing the takbeer. You are like "Whaaaa...?!?" You are confused yet again. You take it as between what your community doing and friend doing. Question remains. How long we can stay in this confusion?
Now comes the sitting position, you raise your finger only when you recite "Ashahadu an la ilaahaa..." Your friend on your right, keeping it fixed all through the tashahhud. On your left, someone is shaking the finger. You are looking at that person sternly what he is doing during the Salaah. Moment he says Salaam, you pretend as though you did not see him. However, You are confused yet again. You say "Don't shake." "Humm! shake it!" yells the other one. Your friend is saying, "Instead of arguing shake or don't shake. Why can't we ask the Shaykh?"
Get out of the confusion. How long we can stay in this confusion? How many times we discuss and argue about this? How many times we raise our voice? Learn the authentic way of Praying... Learn the Fiqh of Salaah. Next time you will have the solution. Clear about what you are doing. Period.
