First of all, these Arabs who are christian, they really have too much pride to accept Islam. They language of the Quran to the Arab person, is so miraculous that they can't even listen to it.
This argument of thuma has been raised by so many christian missionaries to say the Quran is like their Bible when there is a clear contradiction in the translation of the Bible on Creation.
The lexicon specialized scholars are the ones who study language. This fool, is using Sakr software, which uses modern Arabic only. It is not a complete translation of Arabic. Yes thuma can mean what Dr. Zaik mentioned. Then, while, moreover, etc.
Let me give you an example, if you go to surah 102 At-Takaathir, thuma is used. Allah described the experience of death. How many times a person dies, 1, so thuma is used one after another. Does that mean you die then you this then you that. No you will experience all at the same time.

They will by no way accept Islam unless Allah changes their heart. Therefor let them blabble on they will shoot themselves in the foot with the people because when a person listens to the scholars they will have a better understanding of what is fact.
You can dig even further into word thuma if you want. Use translation called Edward William Lane Arabic-English Lexicon it is in volume 1 page 350-351
