Esselamun aleykum my dear friend

I know the Bible says Jesus was sent only to the Children of Israel does the Quran say Jesus was only sent to Israel or at least mainly to the Israelites ?

Esselamun Aleykum my dear friend,

I wish I would give you the right information to give you the light of Islam.

First of all about Jesus( Hz. Isa-in Turkish);

God sent one of the highest-ranked prophets in Islam, Jesus, to the Children of Israel. The Qur'an makes it clear that Jesus was not divine nor did he have a share in God's divinity and rather spoke only of the worship of God. Jesus is the Messiah in Muslim belief.

The Qur'an mentions only 25 prophets by name but also tells that God sent many other prophets and messengers, to all different nations that have existed on Earth. Many verses in the Quran discuss this:
"We did aforetime send messengers before thee: of them there are some whose story We have related to thee, and some whose story We have not related to thee. ..."[Qur'an 40:78]
"For We assuredly sent amongst every People a messenger, ..."[Qur'an 16:36

Please do not hesitate to contact with me for any kind of question.

As long as Allah gives us the enough strenght to help each other. I will try my best to answer all your questions accordingly.

Peace be with you!

Consider following verse, Q 61:6

And (remember) when 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), said: "O Children of Israel! I am the Messenger of Allah unto you confirming the Taurat [(Torah) which came] before me, and giving glad tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmad. But when he (Ahmad i.e. Muhammad SAW) came to them with clear proofs, they said: "This is plain magic."

Assalaam walaikum,

The Quran is explicit about the Prophet Isa.

All prophets of the Glorious Creator are 100% human beings sent to deliver the same message. I believe the number is 124,000 ( some check please ) prophets.

He was given the divine message to redeem the Jews. In the Christian tradition the most graphic illustration is Jesus at the Temple. He was enraged. Now, this tells us something. Why was this peace loving man enraged. The Laws of Allah were being mocked.

The Quran tells us over and over again he was a prophet of Allah. He loved Allah and wanted no reward but that which is with Allah. He was of those who submit and prostrate to Allah.

There are excellent references and Brother Ditta has information on Sura Faithia. We pray not to be disobedient. Jesus tried to explain to the Jews to go back to the Laws of Allah.

" I am not sent but onto the lost sheep of the house of Israel"-Mathew 15;24
and " Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter not ye; but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel" Matthew 10.

This may help you better understand:

I am the slave of Allah. He has given me the Scripture and has made me a Prophet. And He has made me blessed wherever I may be and has not made me arrogant, or unblessed. Peace on me the day I was born, the day I die, and the day I shall be raised back to life.” Chapter 19 Verses 30-33.

Jesus the Son of Mary was a prophet of Allah. By the Grace of Allah, he performed many miracles. He is also the Messiah, or the anointed one (Christ), who will return near the End Times.

The return of Isa (peace be upon him) is one of the major signs of the last day. As the Messiah, he will destroy the Dajjal, or the False Messiah (Anti-Christ).
