As-Salaam 3alaikum Wa ra7matullahi wa barakatu. As you know I have not been on the internet alot becase I'm backing my stuff. I have never been outside of New York Since I was like 3 when I came from Pakistan to New York with my Parents. So I'm kind of scared. I have never felt how it feels like to be on a plane. People say You Vomit alot but I don't know!!!! I will be going to Makkah for some nights and then to Medina.

That's brilliant, akhi. I am so happy and pleased for you. InshaAllah you have a safe and peaceful journey.

And it's going to be packed in Masjid al Haram. Be sure that you leave a few hours before for Maghrib. Else you would be praying on the streets. (Ok, let me not scare you already ).

Please remember us brothers and sisters on TTI in your supplications. :)

Hope to see you back on TTI after your wonderful trip InshaAllah taala.

Wasalaamalaykum waa rahmatullahi

Actually akhi, I would advise you not to do that. This is a place of ibadah and we should spend our time stretching our hands and asking Allah for His mercy and forgiveness. Or engaging in voluntary salah, nawafil tawaaf or reading of Quran.

At the max, just take few pictures. Please do not pre occupy your time with it. Respect the sanctity of the place & humble yourself infront of Allah & forget the pictures. You will remember all the moments in your heart and mind for a long long time. Trust me ! These are more beautiful than any that a 12 megapixel camera can take.

I had a golden opportunity (I thank Allah for this unique blessing) to be there in mid June. It was heartbreaking what people were doing at Masjid Al Haram.

They were preoccupied in taking perfect photo of the Kaaba and themselves. Or take videos of them (mock) supplicating in the background of the kaaba.. They were actually facing the opposite of the kaaba to get their perfect video ! La Hawla wa laa quwatta illa billah..

May Allah azz zawajal save us from such heedless ways. Ameen

I hope my advice benefits you InshaAllah. If I seemed harsh or judgmental, then I ask for your forgiveness.

Wasalaamalaykum waa rahmatullahi

Of course I wont do that especially inside the Haram. I wanted to Take Pics of the Surrounding Mountains of Makkah and Medina especially Mt. Uhud etc also the Buildings and architecture there. Which countries plane did you take when you went there btw?

I see that I misunderstood when you mentioned about taking photos. My apologies for that. Perhaps someone will come across this thread and benefit from my experience InshaAllah.

I took the plane from Dubai to Jeddah akhi. The airlines was Fly Naas Airline. It is a Saudi low budget airline.

Btw if you are going to Jeddah by plane, then the meekat passes while you are in air. So you will have to be in Ihram prior to that point. I hope you have knowledge about this. They usually announce in the plane about 20 minutes before when they pass the meekat.

Also, there is an excellent hand book on Umrah by darrusalaam. Please get it if at all it is possible. It will help you out a great deal. It is called 'Ultimate Guide to Umrah '.

Here are the details of the book : http://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Guide-Muneer-Ismail-Davids/dp/9960969045
