While an interesting point philosophically... as a conversation it is rather lacking.

Isn't it a different play on the "Can/Can't the deity make a rock bigger than they can lift." comment, which is an attempt at paradox?

It wasn't meant to be a conversation. It is more about the lack of abilities, intelligence, knowledge and comprehension of the Creator by the Creation. In addition, the Sheikh was emphasizing the limitations of his argument on the Creator as a premise to dismissing his philosophical outlook based on his original ideas. If the discussion had digressed further, the Sheikh would have used more examples and if necessary evidence to support his assertions. There was however no need to do so and hence the dialogue was short.
