Eid ul Adha, the festival of sacrifice, is celebrated on 10th Zil-Haj, last month of Hijra calendar in the remembrance of sacrifice that Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) laid off in the name of Allah.
History explains that God once appeared in Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S)’s dream and instructed him to build the most sacred Muslim shrine Ka’aba, in Makkah, which the Muslims should face during their prayers. Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) immediately responded to Allah’s call and built Ka’aba along with his wife and beloved son Hazrat Ismael (A.S).
