important- do we sacrifice our desires / night sleep for Allah?

i contacted my brother at 10am this morning and his wife told me he stayed up late so he is tired and still sleeping.

after douhr time he called me and said 'i just woke up, if it wasnt for douhr salah i would still be sleeping'. he said he slept 2.30am because he forced himself to stay awake to watch the soccer world cup match. i said, have you ever stayed up that late, just once in your life, reading quran or praying tahajjud prayer or making dua? he said no, not once. i said 'and so its okay to force yourself to stay up till 2.30am to watch a soccer game in a few days you will forget what happened' he said i was right, and had a point. i told him no, im not right, allah gave us so much in this dunya which we dont appreciate or do much in return. we have the right to sacrificed our desires and needs and wants for allah. we should sacrifice it all for allah.

in the middle of the night, what is wrong with waking up and praying 2 rakaat tahajjud prayer, you can pray as much as you like but 2 rakaat will give us much blessing from allah. so why, why cant we do this? why do we wake up early for work and say we have to wake up, we will loose our job and take it serious and sacrifice those sleeps for work saying 'we are getting paid for it and need the money for the family', when allah gave you those kids, gave you that family, gave you that job, gave you that amount of wages, and gave you the ability and body and strength for work and yet, you dont think sleeping is worth sacrificing 10 minutes of the night for allah?

islam is easy, and only easy when we are closer to allah and worship him and follow all the sunnah etc. life becomes easy because we will see that allah will bless our time, allah will bless our money and make it worth more than what we think and make it berak.

we should sacrifice what we love doing, for Allah.

make intention before you sleep that you intend to wake up for Tahajjud salah and ask for allah to help you wake up for it make woduh before you sleep too and before the intention. if you dont wake up, Allah will reward you for what you intended and your sleep will be charity from Allah.

always stay in woduh, its sunnah. even before you sleep stay in woduh

you should sacrifice that bed, get up at night to pray. Allah will make it easy for us and throw some noor in our hearts. this noor will give us knowledge, protect and guide us, help us in life etc.

give sincerity's to make it all for the sake of Allah

true believers, are those who sacrifice and love Allah. if you love allah so much than you would sacrifice for him by worshiping him more.

the beloved actions of Allah is our constant a'mal (acts) even if its little

pray to allah in the night and fear his punishment, ask for forgiveness and his mercy and seek protection etc. fearing the punishment of the hereafter.

most important, thank Allah, if you really really want to thank him and love your lord, then we should get up and pray more and not all about getting up at night and making tahajjud prayer, the extra sunnah prayer during the day counts too, anything little counts too, any worship relating to allah is all about sacrificing your time and putting in an effort and doing it from your heart for the love you have for allah.

you should draw nearer to Allah, this prevents you from falling into sins and doing haram, it gives you noor from the light / protection to prevent you from bad acts and protection from diseases in you body.

and dont forget, wake up the family or if its during the day, tell them to join you in your worship whether it's reading quran, listening to a lecture, reading an islamic book, making dua etc, encourage others.

you, me and all, we should do this, we should be doing this, and in saying 'oh, i already pray tahajjud salah' well thats good, but increase your rakaat and constantly increase it. if you wake up and pray 2 rakaat, tonight make it 4, if you pray 4 rakaat than make it 6 if you pray 10, make it 12. plus, do extra worship during the day, during your lunch break you have 5 minutes left to go back to work, instead of saying 'i'll light a cigarette' how about you open your hands and make dua and thank allah for that nice break you had and ask him to make work easy for you when you return and just make dua. remember allah always and everytime. if you already do all this, than i hope you can help us and tell us what extra things we can do since your mashallah you do so much sacrafise for allah.

i try and im sure we all try to do all the sunnah and as much worship as possible and alhumdulilah and may allah reward us all and bless us and love us for the love and thanks and worship we do for allah. but brothers and sisters, we should slowly increase these acts.

may allah give us knowledge and memory and help us and draw us nearer to him and keep us closer to him than ever. we need allah for every second of our life, the least we can do is remember him and thank him more. may allah guide us to the right path.:tti_sister:

i found this out:

the prophet (saw) use to recite in one sunnah rakaah surah 'Al Bakara' + 'Al E Imran' + 'Al Nisaa' & 'Al Maidah' all in one sunnah rakaah.

it will take us about (approx.) 4 hours to read. so we must be thinking, mashallah how did the prophet (saw) have time during the day to do other things if in one sunnah rakaah, he recited 4 long surahs.

thats because Allah subhana wa ta'alah, he Barracked in the prophets time

we should take long in our rakaat and understand its worth it because allah will barrack in the time. if we want to read a surah in one rakaah that would take 20 minutes to read, when you pray and finish the whole salah, you'll say 'subhan allah, it took me half hour to pray but i only thought it took me 10 minutes' Allah barraked in the time you prayed. Allah will barrak in everything we do if we do it for his sake.

thats the best i can explain it and i hope someone else can explain the Barakah of allah more so its understood well. because im unable to.

thank you brothers and sisters.

:jazaak:

i will try to follow the advice. but i like footy too.

lol. me too. but shhhh - dont tell my brother. lol.

during the footy break, if your watching it in the late night, pray 2 rakaat and make small dua. you will watch it and feel blessed because you actually did something good. i do this and while watching, i feel so so happy because i dont say 'oh, sitting hear for so long watching the footy, i hope i dont get punished because i could not sit for that long worshiping allah' but i dont feel bad anymore coz i am worshipping allah and making dua and remembering allah during the time im watching footy or what ever im doing.

the good thing about watching sport eg: footy, is - there is no haram bits, eg: dirty scenes, rude comments and words, music, haram / disturbing scenes or girls dressed inappropriate etc. this is very good for us to watch as it is a very good source of entertainment for us without looking at anything haram. but we still should make time to remember allah during our entertainment and thank allah for giving us the time and opportunity of such entertainment. im glad i've made it to live to watch the world cup. 4 years ago, who knows if we were going to live till 2010 besides allah. we probably thought, mmmm i wonder in 2010 who will win. well, thank god we are here to find out.

im sure we've been through similar situations.

salam.

i do love world cup soccer. i actually count down the years till it comes. lol. but i still had to remind everyone not to forget allah, keep thanking allah and asking for his mercy and remebering him always and even when having fun.

salam.

you are all welcome. i hope we can never forget this topic ever.

Allah is with us, his guidance, protects us, blessing us, gives us mercy, noor, etc, we can at least thank him and worship him more. Allah gave us health, Allah gave us this life and allowed us to live in it and than will give us heaven inshallah, and allow us to live in it forever, so what can we do in return? what are we doing in return? not in return as in giving back, but as in worshiping and thanking him for it all.

i fall in this category too, im not perfect, but what makes us good is we are trying our best. thats all Allah wants. but keep trying so we can get somewhere.

take care, salam.
