Is dinner with opposite gender Haram?

Salam Aleykum,

I am just curious if someone is a new to Islam and therefore not able to be around Muslim community and has the oppportunity to go for dinner with a nice brother in order to get to know each other better to see if they are compatible for future stable relationship such as marriage is that ok? they are both mature consenting adults.

Bismilah, This question is asked before and over and over again answers are given. So, just a reminder from the Hadith of the beloved Messenger sallahu alayhee ua salam: The third between two non-mahram ( man woman) is Shaytaan .And as for intetion of marrige to meet with your future husband/wife the way is according to the quran and sunnah and not that of the kuffar. The Prophet al;ayhee salam has said: There is no marrige without a guardian. Be careful sister from the games of shaytaan because that relationship looks nice in the beggining because shaytaan gives his own morphology to it, but at the end these realitonships end up in tragedy like many we've seen lately and there are for the very same reason that we mentioned above. If you want to get married sister get a guardian to ask about the brother's religion and behavior and from that point inshallah things go step by step.
