Assalamu'alaikum brothers and sisters

I have a friend, she works in a conventional bank.
Sometimes when I visit her, she preserve me with meals and drinks. Halal food of course, because she is Muslimah like me.
But, since she works in the place where interests/riba is a part of her monthly incomes, so is the food that she gave to me halal to eat or haram?

Please give answer with the scholars opinion, Jazakamulullah, May Allah reward you.

Question

My aunt works in a bank. Is it permissible to eat her food?

Fatwa

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
It is your duty to exhort your aunt to leave up working in the mentioned bank if the bank is a usury taking one. Working in such a bank is forbidden since the worker in that field either gets involved directly in usurious transactions or contributes in them. All these activities are forbidden in Islam. Jabir ( may Allaah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet Muhammad (Blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: "May Allah curse the one who consumes Riba (interest/usury) the one who gives it to others, the one who witnesses it and the one who writes it. All of them are equal in sin".
Allah Says (Interpretation of meaning): (Help you one another in Al*!Birr and At*!Taqwa (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression. And fear Allâh. Verily, Allâh is Severe in punishment). [5:2].
You make clear to her the dangers of eating from Haram earnings in This Life and in Hereafter. It may prevent his supplications being answered by Allah.
If you believe that your not eating her food may have some influence on her to give up working in that bank, then you should not eat her food. Thus, your avoidance to eat her food would be considered an act to change the evil, which is a duty of all Muslims.
If she does not care about your not eating her food and it will not influence her decision, then you may eat her food. Prophet Muhammad (Blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to accept the gifts from Jews though their earnings were not good. The incident of receiving the cooked poisoned sheep from a Jew is an example from many. This story is narrated by Imam al-Bukhari and others. Unless you are compelled it is better for you to refrain from eating her food.
Allah knows best.
