Is it haram to do teeth contouring?

Salam,
so I've had braces for a year and 5 months because my teeth was crooked, my right canine was protruding growing outwards and i had 4 of my permanent teeth removed to straighten my teeth. So now that my teeth are straight, i still have those little bumps on my teeth that are called mamelons and since i wasn't biting properly. fyi mamelons are those bumps that children have on their teeth to help the teeth tear up the gum and grow. They're supposed to wear out and become straight as they age and usually, by the age of 10, they are supposed to be straight.

I'm 16 now and I still have a lot of those mamelons on all my 12 front teeth and its kind of unusual to still have it because all my friends do not have them now. It is bothering me so much. These mamelons can be smoothed out by doing teeth contouring, a process which by a small amount of enamel are filed down to make it straight. Is that permissible?

Praise be to Allah.

'Those who file teeth for the purpose of beautification' - “Those who file teeth” refers to women who file the teeth to create a gap between the front teeth and second incisors. This was done by elderly women and those of similar age to make them look younger and to make the teeth look more beautiful, because it is younger girls who have these nice gaps between their teeth. When a woman grows older her teeth become bigger, so they used to file them to make them look nicer and to make people think they were younger.

Ah the problems of our future :)

I am not going to give you a fatwah on anything, you can check here for a response by a proper scholar:

islamqa.com/en/ref/21255/

But I will say this: at the age of 16 I really do hope you do not worry about your teeth contours :)
