Is NOT studying a sin ?

Assalam alakum

As you may know, most parents care a lot about their sons/daughters studies. Even if she/he is in university, they still care it a lot, especially when they fail from some classes. I wonder, would that be a sin upon us if we dont study well and it make our parents angry/upset with us ? Our intention is not to make them angry at all, but the result is...not so nice sometimes. So i wonder what would be the case for us, though Allah knows best

Dear what i tell you is that in that case first of all you must understand that you're studying for yourself and your parents usually get angry because we don't understand this simple fact.

When we start to realize that studying gives us the capaacity to understand things more we can also understand why our parents get angry and put ourselves in their place guessing what they may think.

What i mean is we all have to study for ourselves first of all and if that makes our parents happy then it is better BUT it is very common that parents go through alot of sacrifices to give their children the chance to learn and so the moment we do not study we disrespect this sacrifice and act in a selfish way SO yes there is a certain quantity of sin in this, but Allah(swt) is the Forgiving One and He(swt) is Peace so can cancel and forgive our sins and we must have faith in Him(swt) and act in every matter in the same way in which Prophet Muhammad would act...:) do you think he(saws) would make his parents angry?..i don't think so.. and this is Inch'Allah your answer dear.

May Allah(swt) increase us all in knowledge, and bless us trough it and increase our understanding of the world and mostly of the Deen for verily there is no God but Him, al-Alim, al-Aziz :)
