Is "Tabeez" allowed?

Assalam Alaikum dear brother & sisters,

Plz. help me out?
Is it allowed to wear "Tabeez" for us ? As one of my friend was saying that nothing wrong in wearing it, as in it the aayaa of holy Quran is writen,
and it help us to protect from any harm, by the grace of ALLAH.
Is it right or wrong according to Quran & Sunnah? Plz help me out.

it does help a lot, (at least for me) i did ruqyah once and thought of doing it again. definitely change my mind now.
