Yeah I forgot to point that out...that's Washington. Awesome flyers! But on another note r u the graphic designer helpinghumanity? if so what kind of program do you use for your flyers?

Wow..its strange that no one was able to figure it out. Jazakumullah kairun for brother Mathew for pointing it out. All is over now ..lol

Sister Aisha, I am not a graphic designer. I am about to be an Engineer. None of the posters/fliers/banners were made by Graphic Designer or any other professionals in the field. These were made simply by students who were dedicated.

Here are some more

I think your marketing techniques are better than ours (h/w our uni regulates certain areas in which we can advertise). What we did was have a whole week of different activities. We even painted on walls and wrote chalk on the floor and posted up signs everywhere.
The most important this is to be organised and get planning pretty early on. Our Activities were as follows (P.S the society has been doing this every year for the past 5-6 years with different themes each year):

Monday
Free Barbeque - While were handing out food we also give free islamic material aswell

Tuesday
Well we did a Debate titled "Islam or Liberalism which is the way forward". This was really successful and a lot of non-muslims showed up.

Wednesday
Bake Sale- we ask the muslim students to make food and we sell it in the agora (were everybody gathers it has shops and stuff). Every year we donate part of the money to different organisations. Last year it was for Afia siddique foundation and this year its for the Deaf Muslim Support Network

Thurday
Prayer room Open day- Usually we dont get as much people but this year cause i felt like volunteering this year i suggested that the make the prayer room look as beautiful outside as it is inside and it worked. We had a lot of people coming :)

Friday
Lecture: What is the purpose of life?
The speaker was pretty good although i wasn't too happy with the venue i would have preferred it to be in the city (more people come). Yeah but alhamdulilah overall it was great

Mashallah all the methods are super awesome. Don't say that our techniques are better than yours. Alhamdolillah the purpose of these activities is to invite and educate others about Islam.

btw if you were to be given the position of an admin in your club, what changes or improvement would you bring?

Assalamo alaikum wa rahmatullah

Some more pictures.

I have tried my best to not include any picture having a brother or sister. But in some occasions i don't have too much choice....

If you want to see all the pictures, they are now uploaded on facebook. Feel free to see them. In total i have uploaded about 100 pictures. There is another album that contains 200+.

wassalam

Games and other fun activities:

Hmmm i wouldnt know cause i HATE (see how i underlined hate) Anything to do with leadership roles. I like to quietly help in the background while someone else can take up all the attention. BUT if i had any say, i'd first make the girls the head of admin in the islamic society and boot out all the boys. No offense to males but (and im not backbiting anyone) they're quite useless. Its us girls that do everything so we deserve all the credit.

Ill get back to you on that question :SMILY231:

MashAllah akhi, your MSA puts other CUNY MSA's to shame. My own MSA was pretty active but this is beyond amazing!

Assalamu allaicum wa raahmatullah wa baarkatuhuhu

Mashallah dear brother Zahid, you have done good work in giving Dawah, teaching and bringing others closer to Islaam, Inshallah.

I like the most " Hijab booth" and " Muslim inventors" which I could see from pictures above which you have shared with us Mashallah. Alhadmulilah, you gave so much efforts and may Allah reword you brother and all Muslims who were participating in this preject. Ameen Ya Rabby.

Jazakumullah khairun sister for the nice words.

There is this whole debate going on these days to centralize all the MSA's of New York. Hopefully something positive will come out of it.

Oh btw, just to let you know of two things

1) Sheikh Yusuf Estes is giving a lecture "The Shaded Seven" at "Queens College". This lectures will be held on Tuesday April 26, 2011 from
6pm-9pm. So take out some time from your busy schedule and attend the event.

2) The last day of the exhibition "1001 Inventions - Discover The Muslim Heritage In Our World" is April 24. This exhibition is at "New York Hall of Science". It worth going there with your family. If you haven't been there as of now ..then dont waitt...Just goo..

Wa-alaikumus salam wa rahmatullahe wa barakatuhu Asja Jaan:

Mashallah "Hijab Booth" was occupied by non-muslim sister. They were quite frank to try hijab on themselves.

Another table that drove sisters and brothers was "Get your name written down in Arabic". I was setting up the tables, and a sister came up to me and said, "Can I get my name written down in Arabic". I looked at the other brother and asked him to do it. oh btw at this stage there are no sisters to help us out...

So the brother, left what he was doing and asked her name. I guess for 15-30 second this brother was like how do i write her name in Arabic. Within that time, this sister spelled out her whole name in arabic. I was quite surprised so i asked her "How do you know it". She replied "I am lebanese". I was like that's why.

This brother wrote her name and told her that if you want to get the professional written name, then come back when the sisters are here.
