:girl3: does anyone know of any free islamic blogs?
also, is it haram to have a MySpace account?

If you keep your page and friends list short and just include clean people then it is ok. The same principle is applied, i.e. Whatever you do is just for the sake of Allah. If you think you can server Islam in better way by sharing some good videos and content to the nonbelievers then do it. If you want to make the myspace profile for fun then there are better places for that.

:girl3: does anyone know of any free islamic blogs?

There are thousands of blogs maintained by MUSLIMS, but I don't really know of any that specifically pertain to Islam, and don't stray into the disliked or the haraam...I'll look more closely at some I know of later and see if they're suitable to post links to or not.

There's a blog I know of (link forgotten, plus like I said, I'll check it out for suitability, I wouldn't want to post a bad link) written by a sister in Jordan (in English, Arabic and Italian, as she is trilingual, subhanallah), and she written a BRILLIANT post a few months back about being veiled...Basically, she described a situation in which she was hanging around at university and she saw some boys and girls flirting. She paid them no mind, but noticed that they switched their conversation from Arabic to English when she arrived, and one of the people was like "let's speak in English, she won't understand, she's veiled". Not knowing that this sister is highly proficient in three languages! On another occasion, she was talking to a guy online (innocently, not flirting), and the guy said something like "are you REALLY veiled? How come you can speak so much English if you're veiled?". Ha!

As for the Myspace account - I'd recommend you'd do further research, as anything I say isn't necessarily agreed upon by Qur'an and Sunnah (lack of knowledge rather than bad intentions), but I guess there'd be no harm in creating a page, as long as you didn't share unsuitable photos, link to any bad pages, or reveal any information that should be kept private, etc.
