As-Salaam alaikum,
Islamic Thought is divided 3 basic principles: The Unity of God (Tauheed), Prophecy (Nubuwa) and Eschatology (maad) or questions pertaining to the next world.
Islam defines the Unity of God with the statement, "There is no god but God", a famous/formula that make up half of Islamic testimony of faith (the second half being 'Muhammad is the Messenger of God').
This declaration of God's Unity does not mean simply that God is one. It means that everything in the universe has been brought into existence by a single Reality.. God created all things through His Power and Wisdom.
The second principle declared that God has sent Prophets to every nation on earth, reminding people why He created them and what is expected from them. The Qur'an maintains that all of the Prophets brought a single basic message :-
"There is no god but God.. LA ILAHA ILLALLAH".
The third principle pertains to eschatology or the "return" to God Almighty, when everyone will be mustered before Him. The scales will be brought out, and each person will be judged. At this point, "whoso has done an atom's weight of good shall see it, and whoso has done an atom's weight of evil shall see it" (99:7-8).
