Stockholm - A bus driver who recently tried to refuse a woman clad in a full face Muslim veil - niqab - to board a city bus in the southern Swedish city of Malmo has to seek a new employer, a newspaper reported on Wednesday.
The driver made headlines after the 22-year-old woman complained that she was initially denied from riding the bus from the Rosengard suburb of Malmo that has a majority immigrant population to the city centre.
The driver later said her veil made her hard to identify and made him feel uncomfortable, but apparently he overstepped the line.
The woman did not leave the bus and the driver was temporarily suspended after the incident.
Bus company Arriva said it would not to extend the driver's contract, the newspaper Punkt.se reported.
The incident was apparently the "final straw," but the company did not offer details of other disputes with the driver, the report said.
