assalamu galaykum,

i am Kazakh nation muslim from 1000 and mores years till now, Alhamdulilah.
in our nation we have many names such as: Akbar, Wahab, Hakim, Rahman, Jamiga, Jappar, Alim, Qadir, Halik, Qahar, Adil, Walli, Qayim, Gani, Salam etc, and in our nation may be millions of people has such names.
and those names are the names of Allah.
Allah has such names...
and we are - Kazakh nation 1000 years muslim nation, alhamdulilah. some of our tribes in Kazakh nation embraced islam from about 7-th, 8-th century.
but in our Hanafi madhab this names is not commit the shariah... but some other nation`s newly converted brothers said it is wrong... but we do not agree with them.

My simple understanding of this is that names of Allah swt are attributes to him swt. However, in arabic 'Al' means 'the' , and the names of Allah swt carry 'Al' next to the name. For instance, you have given the name Hakim. If someone is called AlHakim then that would be wrong as it is an attribute of Allah meaning the most wise. Hakim on its own would be ok. Allah knows best.

This is as far as I know, so please double check with sheikhs.
