I think you might find many of the videos in the New Muslim Video forum to be very helpful. The members of this forum are all willing to help you learn, so do not hesitate to ask questions.

And, most importantly, remember that while many members here have known Islam all their lives, there are also many recent reverts (or converts, if you prefer) to Islam. I myself am a recent revert, who will be celebrating the first anniversary of my Shahadah in another 19 days. I am a former pastor of a mainstream Christian church, so perhaps some of my own experiences will help you through your time of discernment. The reason i say this is because you said you was previously a pastor. i have been reading and observing lots of information on islam. I am very close with my brother and have been telling him what i have understood islam to be like. he is now interested, he has read the bible several times and would identify himself as a christian. he has now asked me for a qu'ran. do you know where i could get one for him? i hope to here from you soon? joanne
