Hello brothers and sisters,

I would like to share some information my imam was saying during his speech back in my village (in lebanon). He says that ramadan is one of god's words or names so it's wrong to say that ramadan is coming, 3 days left from ramadan... basically using ramadan alone because it's wrong to use god to refer to something. So for those who say that; just say the month of ramadan is coming, 3 months from our holy ramadan and etc..

any comments will be nice, just wanted to share this before leaving to class.

i neer heard that ramadan is also allah´s name.

ask him where he found this from quran and hadiths.then its will be better to understand his view.

Forgive me if I am wrong, but I thought the word Ramadan derived from the arabic word ramida or ar-ramada...which means scorching heat or dryness...
