Kissing the children

Respected sisters & brothers :
To kiss children with kindness and affection is not only permissible but also a means of attaining Allah's Mercy.
I kiss my small children daily , this makes me somehow happy , but the big ones I kiss them occasionally .
Please read these hadeeths

One ) Abu Hurairah (May Allah bepleased with him) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) kissed his grandson Al-Hasan bin `Ali (May Allah be pleased with them) in the presence of Al-Aqra` bin Habis. Thereupon he remarked: "I have ten children and I have never kissed any one of them.'' Messenger of Allah (PBUH) looked at him and said, "He who does not show mercy to others will not be shown mercy".[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Two) `Aishah (May Allah bepleased with her) reported: Some bedouins came to Messenger of Allah (PBUH) and asked: "Do you kiss your children?'' He said, "Yes". They then said: "By Allah, we do not kiss them.'' The Prophet (PBUH) replied, "I cannot help you if Allah has snatched kindness from your hearts".[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Three) Jarir bin `Abdullah (May Allah bepleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "He who is not merciful to people Allah will not be merciful to him.''[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Four ) Abu Qatadah Al-Harith bin Rib`i (May Allah bepleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "I stand up to lead Salat with the intention of prolonging it. Then I hear the crying of an infant and I shorten the Salat lest I should make it burdensome for his mother".
[Al-Bukhari].
" In this Hadith, brevity of prayers stands for recitation of short Surah of the Noble Qur'an in prescribed congregational prayers. The Sahih Muslim has elucidated this by saying that the Prophet (PBUH) would recite short Surah on hearing the crying of a baby. "

Question:
Is it true that a father should not kiss his daughter on the mouth and that a mother should not kiss her son on the mouth?

Answer:

Praise be to Allaah.

This is true. A man should not kiss his mother or daughter on the mouth. Similarly, a brother should not kiss his sister on the mouth, or his paternal aunt or his maternal aunt, or any of his mahrams. Kissing on the mouth is only for husband and wife. And Allaah knows best.

Some parents kiss their children on the mouths even when babies or small children. I used to kiss my son before I was aware of it. You mentioned as far as you know brother. But we cannot assume everyone knows. Some people are reverts and in their quest to find Islam I am sure this is not the first thing the researched. I just thought it could benefit someone by adding that to your thread since it did mention kissing children:) I know that kissing brothers is not sunnah, but who mentioned it was? Inshallah brother you can post daleel regarding the hugs as sunnah so someone can benefit for the post. Again brother Jazak Allah Khair.

you are right sister ,It is stupidity from me to assume that others should know what I know and act accordingly .
