You know, I don't know. Unfortunately, I don't walk around thinking that EVERYTHING in this world is some big CONSPIRACY theory!!!! It's just a book! Nothing more nothing less. AND I don't think America has as much power as everyone thinks. Our dollar is way down, people losing their houses, etc. I think we like "human stories" those that touch us. In a world where we are so detached from the human aspect because of politics etc., we long to connect on some emotional level. Books and movies allow us that. I LOVE to see a real tear jerker movie as it reminds......I am alive and I do feel and I am able to feel compassion, I am not as NUMB as I thought after all. Does that make sense?

I guess we should just thank Bush/Congress for signing that $70 billion dollar fund for "The War on Terror" whilst the American economy is going under recession right now.

I am not saying don't read the book or watch the movie. I'm just explaining what you should be aware of. If you truly want to see some good Afghan movies I can recommend them to you.

P.S. I am not a fan of "conspiracy theory"

I was listening to the radio last night and heard that 24,000 Iraqis are in Iraqi prisons and 26,000 Iraqis are in US prisons in Iraq. Majority of them have been jailed for years and they have not been even charged yet.

I think that will not only make your eyes drop tears, it will make your heart bleed too.

And yes, will such books make it so big in the bookclubs and bookstore shelves and on big screens? I surely doubt it.

I hope I made my point clear.

Books such as kite runner are sending a subliminal message and that is "when US picks up arms agaisnt anyone, they should be eleminated without attracting any sympathy from anyone as their image will already be destroyed.

And as brother TheHumbleOne said, it is banned in Afghansitan because it is clealy sending a message of hatred to different ethnicities of Afghanistan who have been living in brotherhood before the occupiers extended their imperial hands to our beautiful land.
