Lazy fool
Waking up for fajr
Oh what a struggle!
My blankets wrapped around myself
Giving me a warm cuddle
Go to sleep a voice says
Fajr time is now gone
You have slept in again
Up has come the sun
Drowsy eyes flicker towards the window
And i know, it is not yet light
As i struggle with sleeps warm embrace
My concience begins to fight
Get up you Lazy fool!
How many fajrs will you miss?
Just for the fleeting pleasure of sleep
Your akhirah can you risk?
Do you not know the reward
Of praising your Lord before dawn?
Why do you think the Muezzin recites
As-salatu Khairum Minan Naum?
(Salah is better than sleep)
Contemplate on the closeness of your Lord
When you stand to pray
To know how close He is to you
You won't miss fajr every other day
Oh never mind, go to sleep
It is so cold outside this quilt
You will end up freezing to death
It's ok have no guilt.
The stupid alarm had to ring
But don't worry it's just your dream
Alarm is not waking you for fajr
The noise is of a traffic scene
Groan...
But what if today will be
The last day that you live?
No qadhaa can be made for this salah
No compensation can you give
And will you stand before your Lord
When your records are laid out
Shamefully admit to missing salah
For a sleepy bout?
Do not be a LOSER!

Do not let shaitaan rejoice
Of having led you astray
From this day you will try harder
To get up for fajr everyday!
