Slave of Allah (swt)
:salam2:
if there is a small community of muslims (mostly being students) who should be leading the prayer?
they usually pick the person who has a sunnah beard, the eldest and most respected person in the mosque prefer this one particular person to lead and also do the Jummah Khutba.
Should the person say no or he continue to lead the salaat?
he knows he is not extremely knowledgeable in Quran, and is not sure of other people how knowledgable they are.
The person feels happy about leading the prayer but fears Allah (swt) that he is a sinful person and someone else is probably more worthy but they all want him to do khutba and make jama'ah.
And it is ok to read short surah's since he is nervous and fears that he might forget if he try to read something big?
What should he do? and wat are the etiquette of doing jummah if someone can share?
JazakAllah khair
