:salam2: dear respected brothers and sisters, i'm sure that each and everyone of us is informed of the poor people in the world. this idea may not be a good one but it's the least i can do for the poor. I'm sure that there are many members on this site. and i'm sure that each and everyone of us can at least afford a dollar so how about we collect from among ourselves in our communities or on here and send the money to the poor. how much we collect lets divide it among the poor countries (Iraq,somalia, palestine, egypt, sudan). Tell me if i'm exaggerating or can we really do this? or how about we each asign each other the community we live in, collect from it and each community send it to one country. what do you think? and come on let's be serious, not just say....yes great idea, but let's actually put it into action.

Its a good idea sister although it would be more better if someone could actually go on everyone's behalf and make sure it gets to those in need. (Certain places may not be possible). That's essential. My personal view is that its good trying to raise money for those in need abroad, although what about back home?

Think Globally, Act Locally

The people are in need in our home countries too. I am not saying we should forget about those abroad but maybe try and balance? Sorry if what i have said sounds offensive, its not my intention at all.

What you said about talking is spot on, where is the value of talking about something when there is no action to back it up? Its likes hyping something up so much that when you pop a balloon it vanishes, just like hype. (I am not sure if that made sense, but i am not good at that sort of stuff)

I think that is a great idea, I honestly do. Ok, here is my suggestion.
I reakon we should have a special TTI fundraiser for the poor where anyone can donate. I think it will be more effective if the fundraiser is on for only a short period of time, then bring it back on, coz if it's on 24/7/365, then it will lose its effect.

1st: No credit cards
2nd: Money orders or bank details intead

The raised money can either be sent to Human Appeal Internation (who specifically deal with caring for the poor) or distributed among the most disadvanted muslim countries (Iraq, Palistine, and somewhere else).

How does that sounds?

here in yemen, we have collection cans in almost every shop, chemist supermarket, beauty shop, where we drop any amount you wish. the money is collected and distributed to those countries that need them like palestine,and mark you we are one of the poorest countries in the world according to world bank or something like that!

Why don't you just set up something locally with your Imam at your Mosque? Starting up something that deals with money over TTI is not gonna happen. Only a few may commit but for how long? Take baby steps and start something locally within your Mosque and build from there.
