Like Water
The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “The believers are (in their obedience to Allah) gentle and kindly, like an obedient camel which when guided lets itself be guided and when made to sit, even though on a rock, does so.” [Tirmidhi]
A Muslim is like water. Whatever you place water in, it takes the shape of it. If you put water in a glass, it will take the shape of the glass. If you run water through a tangled hose, it will do that too.The same way, a Muslim should be flexible to the orders of Allah (subhana wa ta’ala). He should willingly and smoothly fit into whatever Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) requires of him.
What happens if you try to fit something rigid into glass? Either the glass will break or the object you are trying to force into it will break. The same way, if we are not flexible to the orders of Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) then we will either break His orders or we will break ourselves.
