In sha allah, it will cause people to look into Islam more and more, it always goes that way. And Allah (swt) knows best, always turning the bad into something good for Islam. They can plan all they want, but Allah is the best of planners.....Alhumdulilah!

Basically, it kind of coincides with the DVD and the anti-Islam sentiment. It has angered many people that they bought this doll for their children and it says Islam is Light and Satan is King.....implying that we worship satan. It made the headlines....Fox News...and now lots of people are led to believe it is something "we" may have done.....just the fact that it made headlines (kinda FREE advertising courtesy of FOX News) I expect that Allah (swt) will turn it around for the good, because when something like this happens, always people look into what Islam teaches and a lot of them revert. If one person sees the light, because of this, then it is great. Alhumdulilah! And also, we will be tested by bigots who get mad at us thinking we did it. (Time for pure patience and love) So it becomes a perfect time to open up dawah to someone. And Allah knows best!

I have looked this up (because it just seemed like a strange thing no matter who reported it).

I found several news reports with the doll (and the article doesn't say it is a Pro-Islamic doll, it says BUYERS reported it saying "Islam is the Light" and "Satan is king" - which of course shows it can not be a pro-Islamic message anyway).

I played the videos of the doll and while a person MAY be able to listen closely and TRY to hear something from it, it just sounded like gibberish to me. Kinda like in the 70s when the big rage was for teens to try to play records backwards and hear satanic messages - you can hear anything you want. One of the recordings make it as though you can make out the word "light" but really, only if you were listening for it. I couldn't find any videos trying to show the "satan is king" message.

If anyone actually listens to it, again, you would have to be thinking "what am I going to hear" to make something out (besides the word light). I searched the Internet for other reports, and in several blogs people who had the doll mentioned that when they heard the "news" they ran to their doll and listened to it. Most said they could maybe make out the phrase, but only since they were listening for it.

The voice is made by a recorded message in a tiny computer in the doll. The dolls were made in China - there are Chinese Muslims - it is possible that someone put the phrase into the computer and then distorted it abit so it wasn't so obvious. I searched and searched though and couldn't find any videos about the satan phrase - I would wonder if it was more hype than anything.

FisherPrice say the words the doll speaks are just cuddlying and cooing, and the only WORD they programed was "Mama"

Anyway, the people saying the doll "preaches hate" (which I heard on one local news story) must be quite warped to think that the phrase "Islam is the light" is a hate message?!

Oh well, it gave me a bit of a strange thing to search for online. A big hype for pretty much nothing (and hey, if you think it says' Islam is the Light" - buy it for your kids and support the doll then, Muslim!) LOL!

I read about this a few days ago on youtube. Then I searched the net as well. I came to a few blogs :) and a lady mentioned her doll did not say that and then after listening she heard Islam is the light and instead of hearing Satan is the king she said she heard something else. If it really said that she would have been heard it. It is like when your kids are young and speaking. As their mom listening everyday you understand them but a stranger comes and swears your child said something else. :)When I listened I heard gibberish too. lol But after I played it your mind starts to make you think you heard what everyone is referencing. They are also having a problem with the Elmo doll. One lady said she heard "Kill James" when I listened I heard tell James. I think people hear what they want and when one person said they heard islam is the light and blah blah blah. The media took it and ran. I would not be suprised if Fox made the entire thing up and those people in the video are actresses. :)

I couldn't get it to copy, but here is a report from an audio expert. He took the recorded sound, cleaned it up (like they do with old recorded records and transmissions) and he said the closest thing it says to the reported "Islam is the light" is "It' not near the light" if you were trying hard to listen.

Oh, well, it just shows that some people are easily persuaded that they hear and see something they didn't actual hear or see.

Does doll deliver Islamic message?
Listen to the original audio soundtrack sent to 2NEWS by Fisher-Price
A little doll is creating big buzz after some people claim the toy says, "Islam is the light."

Fisher-Price sent 2NEWS an e-mail saying, "The Little Mommy Cuddle 'n Coo dolls feature realistic baby sounds including cooing, giggling, and baby babble with no real sentence structure. The only scripted word the doll says is mama."

Some people disagree, so 2NEWS took the doll to an audio expert at Video Revolution in south Tulsa.

John Gaudet says the sound is coming across distorted, especially since it's a toy speaker.

"People want it to say something that it's actually not; the ears can be deceiving," Gaudet said.

He put a microphone on the doll and went to work improving the toy's audio quality. In a matter of minutes the sound has been cleaned up.

Gaudet says he hears something a little different.

"It sounds like it's saying, 'It's not near the light.' "

Fisher-Price says it's happy to answer any questions or address any concerns from customers.
