salam alikoum,
yes islam does recognise the love between men and women. but before marriage, it is a matter of love between the hearts, i mean feeling that one loves the other, dating is haram in islam, even if they are planning to get married seriousely. but after marriage, the barriers will be removed.
wa salam alikoum

I think it is Ok to have feelings towards other sex but a muslem should stick to the teachings of Islam: lower gaze, gard modesty, never be alone with the opposit sex, never touch the other sex, ...a women should wear higab ......this kind of conduct is rewarded by Allah swt , and marriage is the only way since Allah swt put such emotions in hearts of people to make good stable families. Allah rewards for marrige, shaytan wants people to fall in sin.

I agree with Brother a_stranger.

naturally you can't stop yourself from having feelings toward the opposite sex, Its is of Fitra that Allah created us with.

And i would like to add to what brother a_starnger said, that it would be better not to let anyone know about it untill you are 100% sure, Only then you can show it by asking her hand for marriage.. As for a woman, It is the same, except a woman has to wait untill that man she's in love with, steps forward for marriage.

Always keep in mind that this love thing may not be ment to end up with marriage, thats why i say dont let anyone know about it.. For it may cause Fitna to both man and woman.

That if you are a true muslim who puts his love to Allah first.

May Allah gather all lover in Halal with happiness and long lasting marriage life.

I think that people nowadays are under the pressure of Media which use love matters in an immoral way ruining the Fitra of people wiping modesty from hearts otherwise if we have no such media things will be much better and more natural. i think that people in the past (without tv and movies) had more stable emotions and more clear Fitra(pure essance). Some times emotions make people rush in uncountable results. Keeping the teachings of Islam solves many problems in society.

You know im really happy to hear this answer :) and i really appreciate what everyone jsut told me ... great help. See i heard from some people that love is not allowed at all and I was thinking how is that possible Allah swt made us this particular way that we r attracted to the other sex and call me w/e anyone wants but i dont believe in arranged marriage ... I feel like a person know the other sex before they get married but everyone opinions depend on their interactions with other couple. And I feel like if a person likes someone then under the supervision of parents ... without having like a date ... u just talk to the girl while being properly covered and in modesty.
I feel in countries like Pakistan and India alot of the Islamic culture has been mixed with Hinduism and alot of males have totally forgotten the women rights in Islam and many people dont apprecaite their wife
But thats just me
thank You for all the great answers
