Allah swt said in the Holy Qur-an: 2:144

Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor, the first Malaysian Muslim astronaut, performed salaah ( daily Islamic prayers) in outer space.

Mash Allah very inspiring my question is that what qualifications you need when you wish to become an astronaut.Do you need to study astronomy or you need to join airforce? can anyone explain :)

Depends, NASA is a privately owned (though they do receive federal funds) organization. Here's a list of requirements to be an astronaut I copied from NASA's website:

Basic requirements for an Astronaut Pilot include the following:

1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in engineering, biological science, physical science, or mathematics. An advanced degree is desirable. Quality of academic preparation is important.

2. At least 1,000 hours pilot-in-command time in jet aircraft. Flight test experience is highly desirable.

3. Ability to pass a NASA space physical which is similar to a military or civilian flight physical and includes the following specific standards:

* Distant visual acuity: 20/100 or better uncorrected, correctable to 20/20 each eye.
* Blood pressure: 140/90 measured in a sitting position.
* Height between 62 and 75 inches.

Not World First Muslim Astronaut but Malaysia's First!

True!World First Muslim Astronaut:
is from the Kingdom of The Saudi Arabia!
Prince Sultan ibn Salman ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz Al Sa'ud more than 20 years ago in early 1986.
Infact after the respective Prince Sultan ibn Salman there was several other muslim astronaut who landed on the moon
before Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor.The respective Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor is the first Malaysian Muslim astronaut from Malaysia.

that's superb but how you work out the times for the prayers when in outer place or in any other situation where it cannot be done.
