I found this bit interesting, can't quite put my finger on what is so weird about it, humm.

Well it is a known fact that Timbuktu had fabulous Muslim libraries.

Now...we are not allowed to worship saints. That is a big no-no. That is shirk. Pain and simple.

Anyone who adheres to Islam, the Quran and Hadidth is automatically labeled an Islamist.

There is too much in the article. It is confused.

For sure Timbuktu is one of the classic cities of Islamic learning, up there with Fez and Baghdad and Bukhara.

So the BBC just labelled me an Islamist and it's a slippery slope from there to extremist and militant. They seem to be trying to forge a difference between 'Islamist' and some other notion of 'Muslim'. I'll stick to being a Muslim thanks.

The article does try to cover too much.
