Manners and posts

Aapa

Mirajmom
Salaam,

My dear brothers and sisters,

We are a public forum. We are viewed by thousands of people. Please be so kind as to be somewhat formal in our posts. Please use a simple salutation and use an English that all readers may be able to decipher. It is our duty. I know I sound like your mother, but I am your aapa, and it is my duty to remind us every now and then.

Salaam,

No you have not...I just have to remind members once in a while we are read by a large and diverse audience. My post was not for any individual in mind.

Sis is right. Inshallah we will all work together to better each and every one of us. We can start by telling each of other what we are doing wrong and advice each other to do it right. For example, if one of us posts a question in one way and you kind of see it offensive or something you can advice the membet to post differently so it is more understandble by everyone.

Sister in Islam
salaams,

I think what Mirajmom means is that our posts need to be clear and well thought out, whether that be in opinion or in language. For us to express our views carefully and thoughtfully we need to use the appropriate and correct methods to do so eg; write fully not in an abbreviated fashion so that brothers and sisters whose first language is not English may be able to understand the topic being discussed.

We are in a very public forum and we are ambassadors for Islam :hearts:
