Assalaamu `alaikum warahmatullaahi wabarakaatuh.

I just wanted to share one of my favorite passages from the Qur'aan with you guys.

http://ia701509.us.archive.org/28/items/TvQuran.com__1/tvQuran.com__192.mp3

The recording is soorat Maryam, starts from verse 22 and continues through 26.

#22. So she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a far place.

#23. And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a date-palm. She said: "Would that i have died before this, and had been forgotten and out of sight!"

#24. Then [Jibrîl `alayhis-salaam or the babe `Îsaa] cried unto her from below saying: "Grieve not: your Lord has provided a water stream under you.

#25. "And shake the trunk of date-palm towards you, it will let fall fresh ripe dates upon you."

#26. "So eat and drink and be glad. And if you see any human being, say: 'Verily! I have vowed a fast unto the Most gracious so I shall not speak to any human being this day."

The recording stops there. But the story continue. She brings `Îsaa `alayhis-salaam home and the people instantly assume she's committed Zina and chastise her And then, she's made the vow not talk--the baby talks! Beautiful, Subhaanallaah! But her struggles during her pregnancy is what really inspires me! This is one of the places in the qur'aan that just reading or listening to it makes me *feel* as if I'm present at the incident. I feel like I'm right there with Maryam, may Allaah be pleased with her. And it's an Aamazing feeling! =)

:salam:

Thinking of delivering babies, cold shivers run down my spine. At times I wonder how do women manage that much pain? If I were a woman, would I be able to? *Scary*
JazakAllah Khair sister.

Peace.

الحمدلله على كل حال
Wa`alaykum as-salaam wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh,

BarakaAllaahu feeki. It's one of my favorite and most inspirational ayaat too. Especially the part when Maryam had to go through that deep and enormous pain all alone yet Allaah was the one who consoled her through the angel. The ayat about how Maryam even said she'd rather die but that Allaah has chosen her over all women in this world to be among those few pious women carrying one of His Prophet.

Her pain was unimaginable, indeed and just by thinking that, it gives me some sort of comfort that whatever I am going through is not probably even close to what Maryam had gone through. SubhanaAllaah.
