girls usually get over this by the time they reach late teens, but i think i'm sort of scared of men...........i went to a co-ed school but barely talked to boys.i don't have a brother.
i can't read them, don't know what they think etc.....
this has nothing to do with my father he treated all four of his daughters with kindness and compassion.

Sister, this does ring bells. Used to be in that situatin too, as we were 5 girls, baby brother, father abroad, Uncles not around. So yeah I know the feeling. Didn't want to answer a question I knew in class to my male teacher! :shymuslima1:

This affects shy people in particular. The good news is things do change with time.Try to intermingle as much as possible with your muhram male relatives, the uncles, the grandads, and do spend as much quality time with your dad. It helps tremendously, and if he is a busy man, do tell him about what you're experiencing. You can do some background readings too of how men think differently from women. Also, you can read about the men companions too. It would calm some unfounded fears in you inshallah.

Having said that, it does have its advantages. The prophet pbuh said hayaa only brings kheir/good. (my translation) too, it keeps you away from unnecessary intermingling with men, however you need to bring it to a level that does not stop you from getting onwith your everyday life, doesn't cause yu discomfort. This is not too difficult to achieve with time inshallah. Take care sister.
