In regards to the recent meteorite that landed in Russia, how can that be possible if Quran says that earth is protected from such events by angels?

:salam2:

in the quran it is written ''And We have made the heavens as a canopy well guarded: yet do they turn away from the Signs which these things (point to)'' 21:32

it does not say protected against meteors but only ''protected'' and surely the Earth is protected by the atmosphere and magnetic field and these two are in the area that the Quran defines as the Sky of our Earth(not the sky which is beyond like the open space etc..)

hope it helped, :) a simple answer to a simple question, and praise be to Allah(subhanawa taAla) and Allah knows best! <3

As salam alaykum

I have also heard that a meteorite is actually chasing Shaytan. In surah Jinn you can read that heavens are guarded by angels and when jinn or shaytans try to hear what is being said in heaven angels throw meteorites at them you can read in verse 8" 'And we have sought to reach the heaven; but found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires." and in verse in 9 'And verily, we used to sit there in stations, to (steal) a hearing, but any who listens now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush"
